NoScript for Mozilla Firefox
Developer: Giorgio Maone
Date of purchase: for free, used for many years (and donated twice in the past)
Rating: ***** 5 stars
Compatibility: System running Firefox
NoScript is an extension for the Mozilla Firefox web browser that blocks active content on web pages.
Functionality: Allow only sites you trust to run active content – this protects you against XSS and clickjacking attacks, «Spectre», «Meltdown» and other JavaScript vulnerabilities.
Best possible security for your browser!
For websites prepared for this purpose, loading the website is sufficient to infect your computer if a suitable security hole is exploited (installed anti-virus software offers little protection; but the combination of NoScript and common sense provides a high level of security).
Conclusion: must have!
Security experts recommend Firefox as web browser because of its easy to handle plug-ins like NoScript to make Surfing the Web more secure.
ScriptSafe
ScriptSafe is an extension for the web browsers Google Chrome and SRWare Iron that blocks active content on web pages.
Comparable to NoScript for Mozilla Firefox (see above).
I mention this only for the sake of completeness, since I prefer Firefox with NoScript on Windows computers and Safari with 1Blocker on the Apple iPhone.
